Have questions about our beliefs? We have the answers!
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, flawless Word of God, literally "God-breathed". In it, we learn about salvation, how to have a relationship with God, and instructions on how to live our lives in harmony with Him through our words, attitudes, and lifestyle. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We teach that there is one God who is the all-powerful, all-knowing Creator of everything. In relation to humanity, He holds many roles: He is the Father of creation; He became a full-fledged human as the Son, and He is the Holy Spirit that is involved in our lives and can fill our hearts. God is ONE.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; John 4:24; Acts 17:28; Ephesians 4:4-6; Romans 8:9)
We teach that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. In other words, the eternal, immortal Spirit of God, as an act of love towards humanity, chose to become a mortal human being so that He could serve as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. He is fully God and fully man, completely subject to the human condition, yet without sin.
(Luke 1:35; Colossians 1:15; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15)
We teach that everyone is a sinner, as Romans 3:23 states, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” But there’s good news – salvation is possible by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24 completes the verse above and offers hope to everyone, “…all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
We teach that the saving Gospel is the good news of Jesus’s triumph over death (see I Corinthians 15:1-4) The Gospel is the foundation of truth. We obey the Word of God by personally identifying with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. We do this through repentance, water baptism in Jesus’ name, and the baptism of Christ’s Spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)
We teach that our lives as Christians should be holy – inside and out – and we should worship the Lord with joy. (II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14)We teach that the Holy Spirit has given us each unique gifts and abilities. These gifts are to be used to to strengthen and uplift believers as well as provide encouragement that God is among us.
(I Corinthians 12:8-10)
We teach that Jesus Christ is coming again, as I Thessalonians 4:16 says, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven…” His return will be the final resurrection and judgment for all people. Eternal life is promised to the righteous and eternal death for the unrighteous. (Revelation 20:11-15)
We are an Apostolic church. What does it mean to be Apostolic? "Apostolic” simply means that we teach what the Apostles taught and continue in the Apostles’ mission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
